Although cars made their appearance in Greece at about 1900, special transportation of people in Corfu started at 1919. Twelve cars made their début on the streets of Corfu. The times were difficult. The use of cars at that time was almost forbidden. The financial competition was great. In 1920 the first transport company in Corfu was established. The place of this was Christidis car station.
