Agiotfest is held each summer in the village of Agios Ioannis in central Corfu - just 15 minutes drive from Corfu Town. Starting early in the evening, this year's entertainment takes place from 6.00 pm on Saturday 27 August with Soul legend Jimmy James and the Vagabonds the headline act.

Full Description:	During the mid to late '60s, Jimmy James & the Vagabonds were among the most popular Soul acts on the British club and college circuit. Jimmy James was raised in Jamaica, first tasting fame as a solo act with the single "Bewildered and Blue" which topped the Jamaican charts in 1959. After scoring a second number one with "Come to Me Softly," James was approached by the Vagabonds who were at the time one of the island’s most popular live acts. After installing James as lead vocalist, the Vagabonds enjoyed even greater popularity. However, the group yearned for international success and in 1965 relocated to London, where an opening gig for the Who at the famed Marquee Club resulted in an invitation to headline the venue on a weekly basis. The Vagabonds emerged as one of the hottest live acts in the U.K., renowned for James' gritty, powerful vocals. Although he had a couple of hit singles in 1971 - the reggae smash "Mule Train" and the cult classic "Help Yourself" - James spent the better part of the early to mid-'70s outside the studio, gigging relentlessly with an ever-changing Vagabonds lineup. In 1976 James had a pair of disco-inspired pop hits with "Now Is the Time" and "I'll Go Where the Music Takes Me." Jimmy James and The Vagabonds continue touring and this summer will bring the timeless sounds of Soul, Motown and Ska to Corfu! Support acts will be 4Square (back by public demand), local Greek band George Trifonas and The Rebellions, Outboys from south-west England and Vince Vortex and The Cukes from Kent.
